Last September 43 Mexican students went missing after being held in police custody. In this striking animated documentary, we hear the voices of those who knew them best – their classmates and relatives. They don’t trust the official version of events and are determined to discover what happened.

Michelle is an award-winning director working predominantly in documentary. Her richly humanistic films are characterized by intimate storytelling and a strong cinematic sensibility. Her work has aired on CNN, RTP, BBC, ITV and Al Jazeera and regularly screens at festivals including BFI London Film Festival, SXSW, and Silverdocs. She’s an alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus and the UK’s Women in Film & TV Mentorship scheme and was 2nd Unit director on Kevin Macdonald’s BAFTA- and BIFA-nominated documentary Marley.
