A surreal, musical journey about a mother and daughter who end up in two different dimensions as the result of an ice skating accident. STRINGS deals with concepts of gravity and superstring theory, as well as the strings of the heart, while exploring the connectedness that exists between all humans and the universe in which we live. Emancipated at the age of 16, Crystal supported herself through undergraduate school by waiting tables. She received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Southern Connecticut State University before relocating to Southern California. She has acted in various plays and has appeared in several television guest spots and commercials. She is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
After completion of her cinema certificate at LACC, Crystal received the Graduate Opportunity Fellowship to attend UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. While in attendance at UCLA, Crystal has been the recipient of The Motion Picture Association Award, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Internship Award, The Carroll Sax Award, The Edie and Lev Wasserman Film Production Fellowship, and The Jim Morrison Film Award.
For her thesis film, Strings, Crystal was awarded The Alfred P. Sloan Production Grant, The Technicolor Digital Intermediate Thesis Award, and was also a participant in the Kodak 35mm Project.
