Paul Murphy is an award winning writer and director of short films, commercials and virals. With eleven years experience on features, TV dramas, and commercials, Paul has worked with renowned cast and crews, enabling him to hone his craft through collaboration, dedication, and hard work.
In 2012 Paul was funded by Film London and Eastern Edge Film Fund to direct ‘Stop’, a short drama he wrote. ‘Stop’, was awarded a Special Mention Award at Film London’s ‘Best of Boroughs Awards’ of that year, being praised for being ‘extremely well written’ by a panel that included Gurinda Chadha, Stephen Woolley and the BFI’s Chris Collins. ‘Stop’ received its worldwide premiere at the Palm Springs International Shortfest in June 2013, and is currently performing well on the international festival circuit.
Paul is now concentrating on stepping up to writing and directing full time and is currently developing his debut feature film project.
