A lonely cupcake sees other couples in the kitchen enjoying each others company, and decides that she needs a friend. With no other options, she chooses to make one. Gwyneth Christoffel has been making films since 2009, concentrating primarily on stop-motion animation. In 2011, she won an honourable mention at the Viewfinders: International Film Festival for Youth in the NBC Universal Film Challenge competition for her short film, “Gone for Long”, a stop-motion animation based on a song by Nova Scotia singer/songwriter David Myles. In 2012, her film “Recipe for Love” swept all the awards in the same competition, winning Best Animation, Best in Show and the People’s Choice Award. It has screened at over 30 film festivals worldwide, and won a number of awards, including Best in Show at the University of Advancing Technology Digital Video Festival and at the Women’s Independent Film Festival (Girls Make Movies).
Gwyneth is also a singer, an actor and a violinist. She is a member of the Arizona State University Choral Union and has won awards as a solo singer and as a member of school string ensembles. She has performed in professional productions on stage in Halifax, and as a cast member of Arcadia Entertainment’s TV series Aquateam, travelling throughout the Caribbean. She writes a blog, yourstrulyg.com, with a focus on recipes and do-it-yourself craft projects. Gwyneth is currently pursuing a dual major in Digital Video, and Art and Animation at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona.
