After experiencing an immense amount of anti-Semitism and hate as a young child, Manfred ‘Fred’ Hecht escaped Nazi Germany at the age of 11. When he came to America he discovered his love of art and painting. As a successful painter he has had numerous galleries and shows displaying his art. Through this intimate documentary Fred shares the trials and tribulations of his life.
About the Director and Editor:
Sarit Sandler attends Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL studying Cinematic Arts. Sandler focuses on creating films that emerge with themes regarding social justice such as: cultural identity, sexuality, religion, gender studies, and locational representation. This past summer Sandler traveled to Israel and Poland for 5 weeks to network and find inspiration for films in different communities by immersing herself in the new cultures. Upon her return she attended an intensive film program at UCLA.
